Scientific Name:
Adonis distorta Ten
Description:
Perennial species with leaves divided in laciniae and flowers with 8-18 yellow petals.
Ecology:
It can be found between 2000 and 2500 meters in the crushed stones with small clastic formations and almost groundless.
Flowering:
It flowers from July to August.
Interest:
Rare species according to the Red List of Italian Plants; endemism of the Central Apennine. Included in the appendix I of Berna Agreement.
Presence In the Park:
Located in few of the highest spots of the Majella.
Curiosities:
It is of scientific interest but has poisonous principles too, and it can be used as a cardiac regulator.
