Description: |
Perennial plant that can grows until 8 cm. It
has lanceolate compose leaves to protect itself from extreme
transpiration. The inflorescence is yellow in the middle and
white in the ends. |

Ecology: |
It can be found between 2200 and 2800 meters in
ridge environments, on non-dense limestone. |

Flowering: |
It flowers between June and August. |

Interest: |
It is an endemic species of Majella, Gran Sasso
and Monte Vettore. Protected species in conformity with L. R.
45/79 of Regione Abruzzo. It differs from Edelweiss (Leontopodium
alpinum Cass.) because of its lower height, its most compose
leaves and its different flowering period. Rare species
according to the Red List of Italian Plants. |

Presence In the Park: |
It can be found on the Majella and on the
highest mountain ridges. |
