Family: Scrophulariaceae

Scientific name: Cymbalaria pallida (Ten.) Wettst.

Description: Herbaceous perennial plant which grows up to 10-20 cm. It has opposite rounded leaves with 3-5 lobes among which the apical one is usually the biggest. Flowers are light blue or purplish with a 10 mm claw and are visible from June to August. It grows on screes at high altitudes.

Distribution: Endemic species of central Apennine, it is present in Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise.

Notes: It is listed under the “Lower risk” (LR) category of the national and regional Red Lists of the endangered plants.
