Scientific name: Isatis apennina Ten. ex Grande (= Isatis allionii P.W. Ball.)

Description: Herbaceous perennial plant which grows up to 30 cm, glabrous and glaucous, with underground fleshy stems and not-staked leaves along the stem (the basal leaves have stalks instead). The flowers are yellow, visible between July and August. It grows on screes at high altitudes.

Distribution: Sub-endemic species present in Italy with limited incursions into neighboring territories.

Notes: Rare species, listed in the Regional Red List of the endangered species under the “Lower risk” category (LR).
