Scientific name: Androsace vitaliana (L.) Lapeyr. subsp. praetutiana (Sünd) Kress [= Vitaliana primuliflora Bertol. subsp. praetutiana (Sünd) I.K. Ferguson]

Description: Plant which can grow up to 4 cm forming thick cushions. It has linear leaves, hairy on the lower surface, and yellow flowers, with cylindrical tube and rounded lobes. It blooms in June-July and grows on screes and gravels at high altitudes.

Distribution: Endemic of the central Apennine, it is present in Abruzzo and Marche, whereas its presence is uncertain in Lazio.

Notes: It is listed in the “Lower risk” category (LR) of the national and regional Red Lists of the endangered species.
