Extent: 74.095 hectares in the green heart of Abruzzo.

3 Provinces: Pescara, L'Aquila and Chieti.

6 Mountain Communities: Peligna, Alto Sangro and Altopiano delle Cinquemiglia, Majella e Morrone, Majelletta, Aventino-Medio Sangro, Medio-Sangro.

39 Municipalities: Abbateggio, Bolognano, Caramanico Terme, Lettomanoppello, Manoppello, Popoli, Roccamorice, Salle, Sant'Eufemia a Majella, San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore, Serramonacesca, Tocco da Casauria, in the Province of Pescara; Ateleta, Campo di Giove, Cansano, Corfinio, Pacentro, Pescocostanzo, Pettorano sul Gizio, Pratola Peligna, Rivisondoli, Roccacasale, Roccapia, Roccaraso, Sulmona, in the Province of Aquila; Civitella Messer Raimondo, Fara San Martino, Gamberale, Guardiagrele, Lama dei Peligni, Lettopalena, Montenerodomo, Rapino, Palena, Palombaro, Pennapiedimonte, Pizzoferrato, Pretoro, Taranta Peligna, in the Province of Chieti.
