Scientific name: Soldanella minima Hoppe subsp. samnitica Cristof. & Pignatti

Description: It is a small herbaceous perennial plant that can grow up to 3-6 cm, with round leaves and just one hanging lilac flower. It blooms from June to July on the dripping rocks between 2,100 and 2,400 m a.s.l.

Distribution: It is an endemic and exclusive species of the Majella massif.

Note: It is an endangered species, included in the “Lower Risk” category (LR) of the National and Regional Red List of the Italian Plants.
