Traineeships, masters and university agreements

The Majella National Park, hosts in his main and secondary structures university students, doctorands, etc. for a period of training and formative traineeship, according to its institutive aims and in order to spread the direct knowledge of the organization and the management of a National Park.

An internal tutor is assigned to the students and, in agreement with the University, he deals with the preparation of the formative and guidance project and with the supervision of the students during the carrying out of their activities.

Main activities carried out during the traineeships

Participation in various management activities of the Park, among which:

  • monitoring activities and census of the fauna;
  • georeferencing of the damages to the fauna and of others naturalistic-environmental data;
  • activities concerning the collection and the conservation of the seeds;
  • nursery activities;
  • participation in the realization of specific projects concerning agriculture and zootechnics;
  • health management activities of the wild fauna;
  • prevention and management of the damages caused by carnivores to the zootechnics;
  • support to the ordinary technical management of the Park;
  • forest surveys;
  • collaboration to the preparation of thematic projects;
  • participation in the popularization, didactic and environmental education activities of the Park;
  • collaboration to the planning and the realization of territorial information systems, geographical databases, to the GIS analysis for applications concerning the conservation and the valorisation of the Park nature and environment.
